Within a few hours on Sunday, suicide bombings hit three Catholic churches and three upscale hotels in the Indian Ocean island nation of Sri Lanka, still recovering from a quarter-century civil war in which the suicide bomb was pioneered.

The police said they believed the bombings were the work of one group but declined to identify it.

Avengers:Endgame复联四：终局之战

The projector will not start running until Wednesday, but Avengers: Endgame, a highly-anticipated American superhero film produced by Marvel Studios, has already showed its super box-office drawing power in the Chinese market,according to a report by the paper.cn.

Good news has kept on coming since the pre-sale began on April 12. The movie's pre-release sales on the Chinese mainland surpassed 500 million yuan ($74.5million) at 22:31, April 21, setting a new record in China's film history, data from the live box-office tracker Maoyan Professional Version showed.

The box office of the Avengers movies in China has witnessed exponential growth these years. The previous three movies, The Avengers (2012), Avengers: Age of Ultron(2015) and Avengers: Infinity War (2018), earned 568 million yuan, 1,464 million yuan and 2,390 million yuan, respectively.

World Book Day, also known as International Day of the Book.

It was celebrated for the first time on the 23rd of April, 1995, and organized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization or UNESCO. The yearly event aims to promote reading, publishing and copyright.

And the choice of date is by no means random. The 23rd of April was first commemorated in 1923 by booksellers in Catalonia as a way to honour the author Miguel de Cervantes, who died on this date. It's also the anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare and Inca Garcilaso de la Vega, as well as that of the birth or death of several other prominent authors.
